Job Title: Design Convergence Lead (DCL) Engineer
Location: Windsor, ON
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to Southeast Michigan and CTC
Compensation
- Pay Rate (Min): $44.48/hour
Job Summary
The Design Convergence Lead (DCL) Engineer is responsible for driving the alignment of interior and exterior vehicle components from early concept through tooling kickoff. This role ensures that all design elements meet gap and flush targets, perceived quality standards, and manufacturability requirements by coordinating across engineering, design, quality, and supplier teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams including Product Design, Metafunction Engineering, Quality, and external suppliers to define, review, and achieve gap and flush requirements
- Drive design convergence by identifying and resolving dimensional and interface issues early in the development process
- Analyze CAD models and perform tolerance stack-up studies to validate fit, finish, and overall perceived quality
- Apply Stellantis Customer Audit standards and perceived quality design rules to ensure consistency and compliance
- Track and manage program deliverables, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support successful program execution
- Identify risks, gaps, and technical issues, and escalate them in a timely manner with clear data-backed insights
- Support tooling kickoff readiness by ensuring all design requirements are finalized and validated
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, especially gap and flush, fit and finish, and dimensional engineering
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Familiarity with perceived quality standards and automotive audit requirements
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and make practical decisions
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional and global teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced product development environment
