Job Description
A financial services firm is hiring a DBA to support critical production database environments and help bridge technical collaboration across teams. This role combines hands-on MySQL and Redis database work with cross-border communication and technical transfer responsibilities.
Location: New York, NY, Roseland, NJ, or Winter Park Florida
Key Responsibilities
- Support MySQL production operations
- Support Redis environments and platform stability
- Troubleshoot database issues and performance bottlenecks
- Assist with SQL tuning and replication-related support
- Contribute to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery readiness
- Develop and improve scripting and automation
- Work with engineering, infrastructure, cyber, and compliance teams
- Support cross-functional coordination between teams in different regions
Required Experience
- Strong MySQL DBA experience in production
- Redis exposure
- Linux troubleshooting
- SQL tuning experience
- Shell or Python scripting
- Strong communication and operational ownership
Preferred Experience
- Replication and HA architecture
- Kafka or RabbitMQ
- ProxySQL or similar middleware
- Monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Financial services or broker-dealer environment
- Familiarity with regulatory data handling expectations
- Mandarin speaking preferred but not required*
