Store Manager Roles & Responsibilities (Reliance Retail)
- Store Operations Management
- Oversee daily store operations and ensure smooth functioning
- Maintain store cleanliness, display standards, and visual merchandising
- Ensure compliance with company policies and SOPs
- Sales & Revenue Achievement
- Drive sales to meet or exceed targets
- Monitor daily/monthly sales performance
- Plan promotional activities to increase footfall and revenue
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels (avoid overstock/stock-outs)
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliation
- Coordinate with warehouse and supply chain team
- Team Management & Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise store staff
- Assign duties and monitor employee performance
- Motivate team to achieve sales and service goals
- Customer Service Excellence
- Ensure high level of customer satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain positive customer relationships
- Cash Handling & Billing Supervision
- Monitor billing operations and POS systems
- Ensure proper cash handling, deposits, and reporting
- Prevent billing errors and fraud
- Compliance & Security
- Ensure adherence to company policies and legal regulations
- Monitor store security and prevent theft/shrinkage
- Maintain proper documentation and reports
- Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Analyze sales, expenses, and profitability
- Report performance to area/regional managers
- Vendor & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors for stock replenishment
- Manage local purchases if required
- Ensure timely delivery of goods
- Marketing & Local Promotion
- Execute company marketing campaigns in-store
- Plan local promotions and events
- Ensure proper branding and visibility
Preferred candidate profile
Preferred Candidate Profile Store Manager
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Commerce / Business Administration (B.Com, BBA)
- MBA (Retail / Marketing) preferred
Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in retail store operations
- Minimum 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Experience in FMCG / supermarket / hypermarket preferred (e.g., Reliance Retail or similar retail chains)
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of store operations & inventory management
- Sales-driven mindset with target achievement track record
- Team handling and leadership skills
- Customer relationship management
- Basic financial and MIS reporting knowledge
Technical Skills
- Familiar with POS systems and billing software
- Working knowledge of MS Excel / retail ERP systems
- Understanding of stock audits and shrinkage control

- Good communication in Hindi & basic English (regional language preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
