The Opportunity

We are hiring a Nursing Intern to support our full-time Registered Nurse and assist with day-to-day clinic operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a current nursing student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in primary care while contributing to a close-knit team.

What You'll Do

Clinical Support (under the supervision of our Registered Nurse)

• Assist with patient intake: vital signs, brief history-taking, and chart preparation
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies between patients
• Assist with minor procedures, injections, dressings, and specimen collection (within scope and under supervision)
• Provide patient education and follow-up support as directed
• Supplies reprocessing in Autoclave
• Engage in clinical research
• Presentation of health topics in conjunction with the Lopes Health & Safety Team
• Maintain infection prevention and control (IPAC) standards

General Office Management

• Greet patients, manage check-in and check-out, and answer phones
• Schedule appointments and maintain the clinic calendar
• Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and patient files
• Process referrals, lab requisitions, and follow-up correspondence
• Monitor and order clinical and office supplies
• Support billing and other administrative tasks as directed

Qualifications

Required

• Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, an Ontario RPN or RN program accredited by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Eligible for student or graduate registration with the CNO (or able to obtain it before starting)
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Comfortable with computers and willing to learn our EMR system

Preferred

• Previous clinical placement or medical office experience
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as OSCAR, Accuro, or PS Suite
• French or other second language

Pre-Employment Requirements The successful candidate will be required to provide, prior to start date:

• A clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Up-to-date immunization records (including TB screening) per Ontario clinic guidelines
• Two professional or academic references

Pay: $24.04-$51.88 per hour
