Primary Objective -

Ensure all structural designs prepared by external consultants are accurate, code-compliant, coordinated, and buildable, while maintaining full technical control and minimizing risks during design, permitting, and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities -

• Review and validate structural designs prepared by external consultants for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with LIVIO and project requirements.
• Verify structural calculations, assumptions, load paths, and system behavior.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards including CBC, ASCE, and AISI (as applicable).
• Review structural drawings, connection details, and design packages prior to submission.
• Conduct cross-disciplinary QA/QC reviews of architectural, civil, and MEP drawings for coordination and constructability.
• Identify and resolve issues related to anchor bolts, foundation alignment, slab levels, wall locations, and framing systems.
• Detect potential field issues such as misalignment, missing load paths, and constructability challenges before construction.
• Establish and enforce QA/QC checklists and standards across all projects.
• Coordinate with external consultants to resolve design issues and ensure incorporation of review comments.
• Support permitting team in addressing structural plan check comments and approval requirements.
• Respond to structural RFIs, design clarifications, and site-related queries in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support construction team in resolving field issues and deviations related to structural scope.
• Guide internal drafting/production teams for coordination updates and drawing improvements.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings and provide technical input.
• Recommend optimized structural systems and value engineering solutions considering cost and constructability.
• Maintain version control and ensure consistency across all structural deliverables.

About the Candidate -

• Experience: 2-3 years in structural engineering, design review, or coordination of US-based or similar projects.
• Technical Understanding: Experience reviewing or working with cold-formed steel (CFS/LGS), structural steel, and concrete structural systems. Understanding of design principles, connections, and coordination requirements for these systems is preferred. Strong ability to interpret structural calculations, drawings, and multi-disciplinary coordination requirements.
• Code Knowledge: Familiarity with US codes and standards such as CBC, ASCE 7, and AISI is preferred.
• Software Skills: Working knowledge of structural analysis tools such as ETABS, STAAD.Pro, RISA, Enercalc, IDEA StatiCa, and Tekla Tedds is preferred; strong proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and Excel is required; experience with Autodesk Revit is required.
• Coordination and Communication Skills: Ability to work with consultants, internal teams, and construction teams to resolve technical issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills for RFIs, coordination, and technical documentation.
• Education - Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Mindset: Detail-oriented, proactive, and focused on identifying risks and coordination issues early.

AI & Digital Workflow Proficiency -

Strong familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude is required, including effective use of prompt engineering to support structural workflows such as reviewing calculations, checking code compliance, analyzing coordination issues, drafting RFI responses, summarizing consultant submissions, and improving QA/QC processes; the candidate is expected to actively integrate AI into daily tasks to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and overall quality of deliverables.
