Studio Overview

Little Blackstone Studios is an Emmy-nominated and Oscar Shortlisted animation studio that has been producing award worthy animation since 2009.

The Role

We are looking for a 2D Senior and Mid level animators with experience working on animated series , or films, to join the team for our newest show. The show is a brand new original adult animated comedy series, which deals with the always relatable themes of growing up and finding your place in the world, but told from an incredibly wacky and zany perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• This role requires a skilled and experienced individual with a strong understanding of 2D rigged animation and strong hand drawing skills.
• Ability to add into posing by hand drawing assets such as hands, expressions, and other elements.
• Ability to draw basic effects, such as liquids and smoke
• Ability to contribute their creative vision, all the while maintaining the overall quality, style, and consistency of the animation.
• Collaborate with the supervisor and fellow artists to understand and push the show's humour through acting and strong posing.
• Ability to apply feedback throughout the animation production process.
• Collaborate with the director and supervisors to translate the storyboards' beats into animation.
• Adhere to the production guidelines regarding file types and sizes.

Key Requirements

• Strong experience (5+ years) working in 2D rigged animation with a good track record of successful project delivery.
• Strong grasp of Toon Boom Harmony.
• In-depth knowledge of posing and acting, with the ability to effectively translate the director's vision into compelling animated sequences.
• Strong understanding of storytelling and narrative structure, with the ability to visually convey mood, gag, and emotion through animation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work within designated timeframes. Strong time-management skills.
