Job Description
Finance Director needed at the Lisner Louise Dickson Hurt Home. Lisner is a not for profit public charity nursing and rehabilitation home which provides a warm welcoming environment.
- The ideal candidate will be able to manage the accounting team (accounts receivable and accounts payable). Monthly journal entries and accruals.
- Monthly financial reporting to include Actual to Budget variance analysis
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating, and preparation of budgets
- Ensuring completion of organization’s tax filings and other non-profit reports
- Prepare reports to executives through presentation and supporting documentation
- Cash management – provide daily analysis to Senior Executive Administrator (tracking operating account spending and receipts)
- Monthly bank reconciliations (7 accounts)
- Operating, Payroll, Administration
- 4 capital accounts
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating year-end close process with external auditors
- Establish accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends, and establishing critical measurements of receivable and payables;
- Work towards full automation for client billing
- Must prepare monthly reports to be presented to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- CPA, preferred
- BS/BA in accounting; MBA preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in accounting. non-profit experience a plus; management of accounting staff
- Must have knowledge of healthcare industry
- Understanding of DC government tax and other non-profit filings
- Knowledge and experience with DC Medicaid and Medicare, understanding requirements, billing process of each, and filing deadlines
- Knowledge of accounting systems (organization uses Sage Intacct for monthly financial reporting; Bill.com for accounts payable, and PointClickCare for accounts receivable)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $124,800.00 - $135,000.00 per year
