Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their IT Infrasructure Systems Administrator position! This is a 1 year contract with potential to extend or convert opportunity and will be hybrid on site 3 days per week in Mississauga or Toronto, Canada. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.Â

Position Overview:Â

The IT Infrastructure Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the organization’s IT infrastructure and operating systems function efficiently, reliably, and securely.

This role supports over 3,000 operating units and offices across Canada and the United States, providing technical expertise across system implementation, infrastructure maintenance, and escalated support while helping maintain enterprise technology standards and best practices.

What You’ll Be Doing:Â

Â

• Install, configure, support, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure and operating systems to ensure reliability and performance across the organization.
• Implement and support a broad range of IT systems across locations in Canada and the United States, ensuring systems are aligned with company standards and operational requirements.
• Perform end-of-lease server replacements, including staging hardware, installing site-specific applications, and coordinating production cutovers while minimizing downtime to business operations.
• Serve as a Tier 2 escalation point for technical issues, supporting both in-house teams and remote users across Canada.
• Monitor infrastructure health by reviewing actionable alerts and proactively addressing system issues to maintain stability and performance.
• Plan, document, and communicate system updates, maintenance activities, and infrastructure changes.
• Record, track, and document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and system improvements.
• Participate in infrastructure and modernization projects including:
• Server operating system upgrades
• Vulnerability remediation initiatives
• Application upgrades and new system implementations

What You’ll Need to Have

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure support.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies including:
• Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022)
• Server hardware installation and configuration
• Active Directory administration including GPO management and replication concepts
• Experience or working knowledge of the following technologies:
• Microsoft Exchange
• Microsoft SQL Server / AWS RDS
• Microsoft IIS (7.5 and 8.5)
• Office 365 / Microsoft 365
• VMware ESXi / vSphere
• Hyper-V virtualization
• Cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud
• System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
• Enterprise storage platforms
• Enterprise backup solutions such as CommVault Simpana or equivalent
• Enterprise applications such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and SAP
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Power Apps and AI tools for automating operational tasks and processes

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work after-hours during maintenance windows or emergency support situations.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as required.
• Capable of safely lifting up to 20kg regularly as part of hardware support responsibilities.

Pay Range: $30-35/hr CAD
