Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Data Analytics Engineer position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity with good potential to convert and will be hybrid on site in Toronto, Canada. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.Â

Position Overview:Â

As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the data transformation layer that powers analytics, reporting, and data science across the organization.

You will ensure that data is reliable, well-structured, and accessible while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data infrastructure, optimize pipelines, and support data-driven decision making.

What You’ll Be Doing:Â

• Model and transform attribution data from food distributors to map ingredient and allergen information to transaction and product data.
• Build and maintain SQL-based data models that enable accurate downstream reporting of ingredient and allergen information to consumers.
• Develop data transformation logic using SQL and Python to prepare datasets for analytics, reporting, and consumer-facing applications.
• Perform detailed validation, testing, and comparisons to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data models and queries.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and business stakeholders to ensure data models and transformations align with business requirements.
• Support the conditioning and structuring of complex datasets to enable reliable analytics and operational decision-making.
• Develop a strong understanding of data sources, terminology, and data relationships to ensure accurate modeling and integration.

What You’ll Need to Have

Analytics Engineering Experience

• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a closely related data engineering or analytics role.

Programming Skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to build complex queries, transformations, and validation logic.
• Strong Python experience for scripting, data manipulation, and data processing workflows.
• Experience with DBT is strongly preferred.

Data Modeling and Warehousing Expertise

• Strong experience with data modeling and data transformation within modern analytics or data engineering environments.
• Experience building and maintaining data models that support analytics, reporting, or downstream data products.
• Ability to test, validate, and troubleshoot data transformations to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

• Ability to analyze complex datasets, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and design scalable data solutions with strong attention to detail.

Collaboration and Communication

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Pay Range: $45-$47/hrÂ
