Part-Time Lab Patient Technician Role

Make a difference as a Lab Patient Technician. Take charge of specimen collection and patient interaction while working part-time with flexible shifts.

In this essential role, you will facilitate specimen collection, greet patients, and ensure adherence to testing protocols. Responsibilities include performing phlebotomies, ECGs, and connecting/disconnecting holter monitors, alongside maintaining robust client relationships and data entry for patient demographics. You’ll play a critical role in preparing specimens for effective transportation and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and explain the collection process
• Perform phlebotomies and ECG tracings
• Conduct special test collections and document results
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries
• Prepare specimens for onward testing and transport

Requirements

• Graduate of Laboratory Assistant program preferred
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset
• ECG training or experience preferred
• Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
• Strong customer service skills with empathy
