Since 2006, we’ve specialized in helping manufacturers and industrial companies build websites that generate real business results, not just digital brochures. Our clients are typically niche B2B manufacturers with technical product lines, complex buyer journeys, and audiences that include engineers, procurement managers, and operations leads. Getting the copy right means getting the details right.

Job Description

We’re looking for a freelance copywriter to work with us on an ongoing, project-by-project basis. This isn’t a ghostwriting gig where we hand you a brief, and you disappear. We’re looking for someone who can extract high-quality content from client-approved outlines and, in some cases, go upstream to conduct SME interviews with our clients’ internal experts, extract what matters, and translate it into clear, credible web copy that speaks to a technical B2B audience.

Here’s what makes this engagement different: we’ve built a trained AI workflow (Claude) that handles the heavy lifting on first drafts. Your job is to feed client-specific Claude projects with pre-approved blog post outlines or content directions you tailor in collaboration with our team, then refine the output into something that sounds human, accurate, and on-brand. You’re not replacing the AI. You’re the part it can’t do.

  • Review, edit, and refine AI-generated drafts for accuracy, tone, and strategic clarity
  • Write across a range of page types: homepages, product/service pages, about pages, landing pages, and resource content
  • Each website content piece must be written with SEO/AEO practices in mind. Our ultimate goal is to increase our clients' visibility through high-quality content that is easily understood by Google and AI platforms.
  • Collaborate with our team on content structure, client tone of voice, brand guidelines, and SEO considerations
  • Sporadically interview subject matter experts (engineers, product managers, sales leads) at our client companies to extract technical insights, differentiators, and voice

Non-Negotiables

  • Proven B2B copywriting experience, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or technical sectors
  • Comfortable conducting SME interviews whenever necessary, you know how to ask the second question, not just the first
  • Open to and experienced with AI-assisted writing workflows. This is a requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • Strong editing instincts: you can tell when AI copy is flat, generic, or wrong, and you know how to fix it
  • Able to work independently once briefed, without hand-holding
  • Familiarity with basic SEO and AEO concepts for content writing.

Strong Differentiators

  • Background in electrical, mechanical, construction, or related industrial fields
  • Experience writing for niche B2B audiences (engineers, specifiers, procurement teams)

Engagement Details

  • Remote, async-friendly. We’re in Montclair, NJ, but this role works anywhere
  • Follow turnaround expectations and deadlines set at project kickoff
  • Ongoing relationship for the right fit, we have multiple client projects per year that require this type of work

How We Work

Every piece of content starts with an outline; we develop the content research and key points a piece should address before a word is written. That outline will be approved by the client and shared with you afterward.

From there, the workflow is:

  • You feed the outline into our trained Claude workflow to generate a structured first draft
  • You edit the draft against what you learned, correcting, sharpening, and humanizing
  • You deliver a publish-ready draft with one round of revision included

In special projects, instead of the outline, you will conduct SME interviews using our prepared question guides (we’ll collaborate on these) to better understand the client’s expectations and the content for each page.

In those scenarios, the post-interview workflow would be:

  • You feed our pre-trained Claude project with prompts destined to draft content that meets the client's expectations while keeping the format (e.g., blog, website page) and SEO/AEO practices in mind
  • You edit the draft against what you learned, correcting, sharpening, and humanizing
  • You deliver a publish-ready draft with one round of revision included

We don’t expect perfection on the first pass. We do expect clean handoffs and proactive communication when something is unclear or missing.
