Job Description Summary
The plant utility will flow to work performing sanitation duties, line inspections and rework. This includes line break sanitation activities, removing stagnant product from equipment, mixing and handling chemicals, and end of cycle cleaning. The plant utility will flow through position and inspect raw and finished product looking and removing any foreign material and product quality defects. Rework finished cased product meeting hourly/daily targets through bag blending, opening, and removing bags from cases and blending to line or to a tote across all lines.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning agents and their uses, understand how to mix chemicals, identify hazards and first aid procedures associated with chemicals.
- Clean equipment using established standard operating procedures using manual cleaning, use of high pressure hoses, ladders, air hoses and hot water units.
- Remove cases from pallets and reworking product through bag blending, reworking to totes or sorting out cases from the pallet. Also, qualify to operate tote dumps in packaging.
- Manually inspect raw and finished product for any foreign material, excess vine or quality defects removing any defective product and disposing.
- Perform firewatch duties, qualify for confined space, and qualify for elevated work.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Actively participate in Company Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice Programs.
Other duties may be assigned by supervisors as needed.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, shovel, twist and turn frequently.
- Ability to wear sanitation suit in environments that vary from hot to cold temperature.
- Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
- Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily. If requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, humidity, oils, smells, and allergens.
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation.
- Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
