Overhead Door Lead – Relocation Opportunity

The Role

Lakehead Overhead Door is looking for an experienced Overhead Door Technician Lead / Garage Door Technician Expert to join our growing team in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

This is a lead technician role for a skilled professional who can install, repair, and maintain residential, commercial, and industrial overhead doors, mentor apprentices and support our expanding service department.

We are actively recruiting experienced technicians from across Canada including:

British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, GTA Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador.

• Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

As an Overhead Door Expert, you will play a key role in both technical execution and team leadership:

• Install and service residential, commercial, and industrial overhead doors
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical door systems
• Work with modern door automation and operators
• Lead installation crews and support apprentices
• Train and mentor new technicians
• Perform safety inspections and system adjustments
• Work in various locations, even outside Thunder Bay with different customers and job sites
• Collaborate with our service, dispatch, and project teams

Who You Are

We are looking for an experienced professional who brings both technical expertise and leadership ability.

• Experienced overhead door technician or similar mechanical trade
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
• Comfortable leading projects and mentoring others
• Able to read technical drawings, blueprints and schematics
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Able to work independently and make decisions on the job
• Valid driver’s license required
• Willing to relocate to Thunder Bay
