Chemistry Academic Support Tutor

Key Ownership Areas:

• Maintain professional, welcoming, approachable, and patient communication while interacting with students.
• Respond promptly and accurately to students’ chemistry-related queries, identifying the underlying conceptual gaps and common misconceptions.
• Provide clear, well-structured, step-by-step explanations, including reaction mechanisms, numerical problem-solving, diagrams, and chemical equations where applicable.
• Engage in follow-up discussions to ensure students fully understand concepts, adapting explanations to their academic level and emotional state.

Qualifications

• Prior Chemistry teaching experience (Physical, Organic, Inorganic, or a combination) at the senior secondary or international curriculum level.
• Experience with IB, CAIE (IGCSE, A-Level), AP, or similar international curricula is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills with a professional, empathetic, and student-focused mindset.
• Flexible availability, ideally 2 hours daily.
