Job Description
1. Strategic Client Engagement & Relationship Management
▪ Serve as the senior point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of high-value U.S.-based
clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and long-term retention.
▪ Lead strategic client discussions to understand evolving business needs and deliver holistic
financial, tax, and compliance solutions.
▪ Conduct periodic business reviews with clients, presenting performance insights and
recommending actionable improvements.
2. Advanced Accounting Oversight & Governance
▪ Provide high-level oversight of end-to-end accounting operations, including
complex bookkeeping, reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant financial statement
preparation.
▪ Establish and enforce quality standards and internal controls to ensure the accuracy,
completeness, and integrity of financial data across all client portfolios.
▪ Lead reviews and sign-offs on deliverables prepared by Managers and junior staff.
3. Tax Strategy, Planning & Compliance Leadership
▪ Oversee and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns, including
Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1040 for multiple clients.
▪ Develop and implement proactive tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize tax
outcomes at both the entity and individual levels.
▪ Provide authoritative guidance on complex multi-state and international tax matters, including
transfer pricing and cross-border compliance.
4. Payroll Compliance & Strategic Advisory
▪ Supervise payroll operations across client accounts, ensuring compliance with federal and state
payroll tax laws and regulations.
▪ Provide senior-level advisory on payroll structuring for tax efficiency, including compensation
design and deferred compensation planning.
5. Multi-State Sales Tax Leadership
▪ Lead the oversight of multi-state sales tax preparation, filing, and reconciliation functions across
the team.
▪ Advise clients on complex sales tax implications including nexus analysis, economic nexus
post-Wayfair, and marketplace facilitator compliance.
6. Financial Reporting, Advisory & Business Intelligence
▪ Deliver senior-level financial insights to clients, encompassing budget management, cash flow
forecasting, profitability analysis, scenario planning, and KPI benchmarking.
▪ Develop and present customized financial dashboards, board-level reports, and executive
summaries to support strategic client decision-making.
7. Compliance, Risk Management & Audit Oversight
▪ Ensure full compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local business regulations, including annual
filings, registrations, and entity maintenance obligations.
▪ Lead and coordinate audit support for clients, serving as the primary liaison with auditors,
authorities, and regulatory bodies.
▪ Identify and proactively mitigate financial and compliance risks across client portfolios.
8. Process Excellence & Technology Leadership
▪ Spearhead the design and implementation of scalable, efficient accounting and compliance
workflows across the US department.
▪ Champion the adoption of ERP systems and accounting technologies such as QuickBooks,
NetSuite, Xero, and workflow automation tools.
▪ Define best practices and standard operating procedures for the Manager and Associate teams.
9. Team Leadership, Mentoring & Talent Development
▪ Lead, coach, and develop a team of Managers and Associates, fostering a culture of
excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
▪ Conduct structured performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to support
individual growth and team development.
▪ Collaborate with HR and leadership in hiring decisions, onboarding, and team capacity planning.
10. Research, Advisory & Thought Leadership
▪ Stay ahead of U.S. accounting, tax, and regulatory developments, translating changes into
actionable guidance for clients and the internal team.
▪ Produce and present research reports on complex financial, tax, or compliance matters with
clarity and authority.
11. Business Development & Practice Growth
▪ Partner with senior leadership in driving business development through client pitches, proposal
preparation, and expansion of VCFO service offerings.
▪ Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities, proactively deepening relationships within
existing client accounts.
▪ Represent USAIndiaCFO at industry events, webinars, and networking forums to build brand
visibility and professional credibility.
❖ Desired Skills & Qualifications
- CPA qualification (active or in progress) strongly preferred.
▪ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
▪ Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in U.S. accounting, tax, and compliance, with at
least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
▪ In-depth expertise in GAAP, U.S. tax laws, payroll regulations, and multi-state and international
tax compliance.
▪ Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or comparable ERP/accounting platforms.
▪ Demonstrated leadership ability with strong client relationship management and team
development skills.
▪ Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with C-suite
stakeholders.
