Senior lead - data scientist

We are looking for a Senior Lead – Data Science who will serve as the technical lead for delivering high impact predictive analytics and machine learning projects. This role is a senior individual contributor position focused on end-to-end solution delivery, project management, and stakeholder engagement, without people management responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a hands on data science expert who can independently drive projects from problem definition to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end to end delivery of Data Science and ML projects, ensuring high quality technical outcomes and timely execution

Work closely with business teams to understand complex problems, define use cases, and translate them into analytical solutions

Conduct EDA, feature engineering, model development, and validation using industry best practices

Build, deploy, and monitor machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised, forecasting, NLP)

Own project scoping, planning, timelines, risks, stakeholder communication, and status updates

Ensure robust model documentation, reproducibility, versioning, and lifecycle management

Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to ensure data readiness and pipeline design

Drive alignment between business requirements, analytical outputs, and measurable value

Stay updated on emerging trends in ML, Gen AI, MLOps, and bring innovation to the function

Required Skills

5–7 years of proven experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, and predictive modelling Strong proficiency in Python, Scikit learn, Pandas, Num Py; exposure to Py Torch/Tensor Flow

Solid foundation in statistics, experimentation design, model tuning, and ML theory Experience deploying ML models using MLFlow, Azure ML, Databricks, or equivalent platform

Intermediate to advanced SQL skills

Strong project management capabilities — scoping, planning, sprint/task management, risk handling

Excellent stakeholder management & communication skills, with ability to work independently

Experience with cloud based analytics ecosystems (Azure preferred)

Good to Have

Experience with Gen AI, LLM-based solutions, embeddings, or vector databases

Familiarity with feature stores, Delta Lake, or real time inference

Prior involvement in enterprise-scale AI/ML project delivery

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
