Job Description
Role & Responsibilities:
- Build and own the full HR function including recruitment, policy, compliance, and employee relations from scratch
- Manage and mentor a team of 4 HR Executives covering Telangana and Maharashtra regions
- Design and implement end-to-end recruitment processes across all 13 store locations
- Draft and roll out all core HR policies: leave policy, code of conduct, grievance redressal, and performance management
- Ensure full statutory compliance: PF, ESI, Gratuity, Minimum Wage Act, Shops & Establishments Act (Telangana and Maharashtra), Labour Welfare Fund
- Handle employee relations, grievance mechanisms, disciplinary proceedings, and domestic enquiries
- Evaluate and implement an HRMS platform to manage attendance, payroll inputs, and employee records
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, headcount budgeting, and organisational design
- Report HR metrics monthly attrition, headcount, compliance status, open positions
- Oversee exit processes including full and final settlement and exit interview analysis
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources — mandatory
- 6 to 10 years of progressive HR experience; retail, FMCG, or textile sector strongly preferred
- Minimum 2 years in a team leadership or HR lead role with direct reports
- Experience managing HR for a workforce of 1,000 or more employees
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance — specifically Telangana state regulations
- Proficiency in HRMS tools (Keka, GreytHR, Darwinbox, or similar)
- Telugu — Fluent (compulsory) | Hindi — Working level (compulsory) | English — Professional level
- Comfortable being based at Head Office, Nizamabad, Telangana (relocation support available)
- Prior experience as the first or founding HR hire in a scaling organisation is a strong advantage
