Role Description

King Brand is opening a new office in North Vancouver and this will be the first position, working along side the owner of the company, continuing to develop our IT solutions.

We are seeking a technically grounded, self-sufficient Systems Administrator & Engineer to take full ownership of our digital and physical IT infrastructure. This is not a "help desk" role. You will be the steward of our proprietary internal ERP systems, our public-facing websites, and the self-hosted Linux/Apache environments they run on.

This role requires a "first-principles" engineering mindset. You will be expected to use AI tools to move fast, but you must possess the deep architectural knowledge required to audit, correct, and perfectly align AI-generated solutions with our unique business processes. We don't do "industry best practices" just because they are standard; we build systems that are better than the standard.

Scope of Work & Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Infrastructure & Application Maintenance
• Internal Systems: Maintain and extend our proprietary ERP systems and websites using PHP, HTML, and SQL.
• Server Ownership: Full responsibility for the health, security, and patching of our self-hosted Linux/Apache environments (AlmaLinux/RHEL).
• Data Integrity: Manage and optimize SQL databases, ensuring high performance and verified backups without reliance on third-party "black box" tools.
• High-Leverage AI Integration & Engineering
• AI-Assisted Development: Proactively utilize AI tools to accelerate coding, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Critical Evaluation: Act as the "human-in-the-loop" to audit AI proposals. You must ensure all logic is perfectly crafted for our specific workflows and doesn't introduce technical debt or security gaps.
• Edge Security & Bot Mitigation
• Cloudflare Specialist: Manage our primary edge defense—tuning WAF rules, managing ASN/IP reputation, and aggressively mitigating scraping or DDoS attempts.
• First-Party Philosophy: Maintain a high-security environment that prioritizes functional-only data and first-party solutions over third-party tracking tools.
• Local Office Infrastructure
• Provide hands-on maintenance for our North Vancouver office network, including hardware setups, secure Wi-Fi, and local workstation hardening.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Linux/Apache Mastery: Deep experience with command-line Linux administration and hardening Apache web servers.
• The Languages: Proficiency in PHP, SQL, and HTML is non-negotiable. You must be comfortable reading, refactoring, and improving custom-built code.
• AI Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to use AI tools for productivity while maintaining the technical depth to overrule AI when its suggestions don't meet our standards.
• Edge Protection: Hands-on experience managing Cloudflare for security and performance.
• On-Site Commitment: This is a 100% on-site role at our North Vancouver office. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: Initially $95,000 – $125,000 CAD per year (based on experience and technical depth).
