Executive chef (Chinese style Korean cuisine)

Position: Executive chef (Chinese style Korean cuisine)

Wages: CAD$ /hour (depending on skills and experience)

Types: Full-time, Permanent (various shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays)

Working hours: 30-40 hours/week

Benefits: 4% of vacation pay

Job Duties

Plan, organize, and oversee the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of Chinese style Korean dishes

Prepare and cook authentic Chinese style Korean cuisine including JJamppong, JJajang noodle, Tangsuyuk, Chef special dishes, and specialty items.

Develop and execute seasonal or special menus to attract and retain customers in collaboration with management

Create special house sauce and new recipes to improve tastes and qualities of the dishes

Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs

Maintain precise portioning, seasoning, and presentation standards

Ensure health regulations and food safety policies are followed

Demonstrate new techniques and equipment

Supervise and train kitchen staff

Coordinate with suppliers and management to order and receive fresh, high-quality ingredients

Arrange repair and purchase of equipment

Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies

Recruit and hire staff

Job Requirements

Completion of secondary school;

Management training and minimum 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation, including two years in a supervisory capacity and experience as a sous-chef, specialist chef or chef is required.

Chinese/Korean food cooking certificate is an asset.

Experience in Chinese style Korean food preparation in a commercial kitchen environment is an asset

Skills demonstration may be required.
