Position Summary This position will be located in Lac Seul First Nation and connected to Sioux North High School. We are seeking a highly organized educator who demonstrates the ability to work independently while prioritizing collaborative relationships with colleagues and families to support student success.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of First Nations communities and culture, with lived experience in a First Nations community considered a significant asset. You will be responsible for tracking student progress and attendance across multiple classes, utilizing diverse assessment strategies to ensure academic growth. A core focus of this role involves developing innovative re-engagement strategies for students returning from extended absences, fostering a supportive environment for their transition back to the classroom.

Proficiency in a relevant Indigenous language is highly valued as we strive to provide culturally responsive and inclusive instruction.

Qualifications Junior/Intermediate or Senior/Intermediate qualifications required. Ontario Teacher Certification with qualifications in the appropriate divisions and special qualifications where the position warrants are required.

This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) at the employee’s expense.
