Job Title: Senior ETL & Data Platform Developer – Healthcare Data Platform

Location: Chennai

Shift: 2 PM – 11 PM IST

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior ETL & Data Platform Developer with strong experience in building scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms for healthcare data processing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ETL/ELT development, data quality frameworks, and data governance while working within HIPAA-compliant environments.

The role involves designing and implementing reliable data pipelines, optimising Snowflake data warehouses, and ensuring high standards of data accuracy, validation, and compliance. The candidate will work with modern data tools such as AWS Glue, dbt, Airflow/Astronomer, and AWS HealthLake to support a secure and efficient healthcare data ecosystem.

Must Have skills:

  • Data Pipeline & Platform Development & Data Quality & Validation & Data Governance & Compliance

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • AWS Glue
  • dbt
  • Airflow / Astronomer
  • AWS HealthLake
  • Experience designing and optimizing Snowflake data warehouses:
  • Schema design
  • Performance tuning
  • Cost optimization
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Pipelines (preferred) or willingness to learn quickly.

Data Quality & Validation

  • Experience implementing data validation frameworks (dbt tests, custom Python validations, etc.).
  • Ability to automate:
  • Data quality checks
  • Anomaly detection
  • Schema validation
  • Reconciliation processes
  • Strong understanding of maintaining data:
  • Accuracy
  • Completeness
  • Timeliness
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards is preferred.

Data Governance & Compliance

  • Experience working in HIPAA-compliant environments.
  • Strong understanding of PHI/PII data protection.
  • Experience maintaining:
  • Metadata
  • Data lineage
  • Documentation aligned with governance best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Experience working in cloud-based data ecosystems (AWS mandatory).
  • Ability to work on EST timings – 2-3 hours of overlap timings
