Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cloud System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, performance, and scalability of cloud-based systems while supporting organizational IT operations and strategic initiatives.
Engagements are structured on a contract-to-hire or fractional executive basis, with consultants operating in a white-label capacity, representing our organization and/or our end-clients at an executive level.
Pay: CA$22.00 – CA$25.00 per hour (commensurate with skills and experience)

Location: Remote (preference for candidates located in Atlantic provinces, but not mandatory)
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and resource utilization to ensure optimal operations
- Provision, configure, and maintain virtual machines, storage, and networking resources
- Implement and manage cloud security controls, identity access management (IAM), and compliance measures
- Perform regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and system restoration procedures
- Automate deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and application issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with DevOps, development, and IT teams for seamless deployment and operations
- Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in system administration or cloud infrastructure management
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and/or Windows Server environments
- Experience with networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, DNS, load balancing, firewalls)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is an asset
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Certifications
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer
- CompTIA Cloud+ or equivalent
