As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Employee Platforms team, youutilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities
- Lead assessments of the firm's database infrastructure and define modernization paths across private and public cloud platforms.
- Partner with application teams to plan and execute migrations to latest database products and versions on private cloud and public cloud.
- Administer Oracle and PostgreSQL environments, performing migrations, performance tuning, and end-to-end troubleshooting.
- Identify and implement improvements for resiliency, availability, and performance in public cloud using JPMorganChase best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical database issues, including SQL query tuning, indexing, lock and deadlock analysis, and incident recovery.
- Implement and operate database observability using networking diagnostics, monitoring, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, and Dynatrace.
- Manage and optimize cloud database services including AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, and Redis to meet application SLOs.
- Provision and manage infrastructure using AWS and Terraform, enforcing Infrastructure-as-Code standards and reusable patterns.
- Support production operations by collaborating with application teams to restore service, optimize performance, and proactively prevent recurrences.
- Drive and support adoption of AWS compute and web services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch) aligned to target architecture and controls.
- Ensure 24x7 reliability through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and execution of release deployments, maintenance windows, and upgrades including after-hours coverage.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience with enterprise SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Operate with relevant experiences in multi-cloud environments across AWS, OCI, Azure, or private cloud.
- Execute relevant experience of heterogeneous data migrations across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB using tools such as Oracle GoldenGate and AWS DMS.
- Deliver relevant experience in tier-1 financial services or similarly regulated, high-availability industries.
- Design and deploy resilient infrastructure platforms using engineered and reference patterns.
- Collaborate closely with application development teams to guide effective use of database services and underlying infrastructure.
- Apply proven database administration expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Configure and use monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, Dynatrace) for proactive operations.
- Build and maintain Terraform-based IaC and CI/CD pipelines to automate database deployments and changes.
