Team member - Cashier-Front of House
Job purpose: Follows the steps of service to create a memorable, authentic Island experience and provide exceptional interactions with every customer, every time.
Key Performance Expectations
Greets customers immediately with an authentic warm welcome, eye contact, natural smile,
open body language.
Engages customers effectively to enhance their Joey Turk’s experience.
Provides complete and timely communication to customers and other team members throughout the shift.
Manages customer’s complaints and takes appropriate action to ensure their satisfaction.
Communicates all customers concerns to the manager or team leader and takes appropriate action to ensure delivery of excellent service.
Inspires and supports other team members with the skills to teach others and advance our learning culture.
Assists with training and supporting team members on restaurant processes and procedures.
Is neat and well-groomed for every shift and in immaculate and proper work attire,
according to the brand uniform standards.
Is prepared to conduct daily and weekly maintenance duties.
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of all food and beverage items.
Checks the service areas for adequate supplies to be readily available during shift (e.g.
napkins, forks, knives, takeout containers).
Inspects front door entry, window, and floors and cleans as necessary to maintain sanitation standards.
Answers telephone to assist callers with directions to the restaurant, hours of operation,
placing orders, or other inquiries.
Make sure food is always displayed correctly and looks appealing.
Maintain food safety standards by following proper food handling procedures.
Provide customers with information about menu items and answer questions about ingredients or other topics.
Accurately assemble food orders as requested by customers, making sure the standard for portions is followed and food is served in the correct containers.
Speedily Prepare mobile orders to ensure customers and third-party delivery drivers are not waiting.
Handle cash & other transactions at the register or making change for customers.
Thanks customers as they leave and asks them to return soon.
Performs opening, closing, and maintenance duties to prepare for the next shift’s operation.
Checks out with a manager before leaving to ensure all duties and side work have been completed and performed to standard.
Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures.
Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and Joey Turk’s
Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
Ability to move items up to 30 lbs. for distances of up to 25 feet.
Ability to remain standing and active for an 8–10-hour shift, with approved break periods.
Ability to hear, understand, and respond to team members’ and customer’s requests in a loud environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
Available to work all restaurants operating hours based on said set availability.
Must meet Provincial legal minimum age requirement.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Previous experience is an asset.
Ability to understand and follow direction from others.
