We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment within the construction industry. As a Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring that our financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting are accurate, timely, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Controller, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing all financial and accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, cash flow management, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.

2. Developing and maintaining financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.

3. Coordinating the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

4. Analyzing and interpreting financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial performance.

5. Working closely with project managers to ensure accurate and timely Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.

6. Implementing and ensuring adherence to internal financial and accounting controls and procedures.

7. Managing and coordinating tax audits and tax returns with our external accounting firm.

8. Utilizing Foundation Accounting Software and Procore Construction Software for various accounting operations.

9. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.

Qualifications

To be considered for the role of Permanent Controller, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA designation is preferred.

2. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.

3. Proficiency in using Foundation Accounting Software and Procore Construction Software.

4. In-depth knowledge of Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, cost accounting, and other relevant accounting practices in the construction industry.

5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and create financial reports and projections.

6. Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and mentor a high-performing accounting team.

7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.

9. A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
