Job Description
As a Technician Electrician working in Utility, your role involves the operation and maintenance of all electrical equipment within and surrounding IDC, including Sub Station and Utilities DRUPS and LT/HT DG sets, HVAC system, etc. Your responsibilities include:
- Technical monitoring, operation, and maintenance of Electrical systems ranging from 11 KV, 6.6 KV, and 0.433 KV
- Emergency Diesel Generator sets maintenance ranging from 160 KVA to 3000 KVA
- Maintenance of Dynamic rotary UPS system (DRUPS) and DG Battery Banks
- Maintenance of Battery Chargers and various control systems on DG and DRUPS sets
- Handling HT & LT Panels, PCC Panels, MCC Panels, Power Distribution panels, control systems of power panels, Power & Lighting distribution Boards, Protective relays, and protection Systems
- Maintenance of Transformers ranging from 12.5 MVA to 2.5 MVA, HT / LT switch gears, BMS System, HVAC System, Water Leak Detection System, VESDA System, Rodent Repellent System, FM 200 System, Chemical Filters, Lifts, EOT Cranes, etc.
- General day-to-day operations and maintenance of utility equipment
- Preventive Maintenance of Electrical Panels and Other equipment
- Recording Temperature, Humidity readings in all shifts and power panel, DG set, UPS readings
- Conducting DG load trials and checking battery banks healthiness
- Fiber cable laying and termination with help of IDC System admin
- Power changeover as and when required
- Updating rack-wise reading sheets of power consumption
- Attending sudden breakdowns in shifts
- Coordinating with chiller house/DG House & HT Substation technicians/Engineers during power failures or blackouts
- Taking immediate decisions by coordination with senior staff in case of major breakdowns
- Preparing shift information report and work permits for different activities and maintenance work
Additionally, you must hold a PWD license and meet the following qualifications:
- ITI or NCTVT or Equivalent Passed
- Experience of 4 to 5 Years in the field of Operations & Maintenance Facility Management
If you have any other job-related duties assigned by the Engineer In-charge, you are expected to fulfill those responsibilities diligently.
