Jefferson Solutions Group is seeking a motivated Intern Web Developer to join our team. The Intern Web Developer will support updates to the Jefferson website (www.jeffersonsg.com) and help build a new website for a newly formed 501(c) organization using WordPress. This role is ideal for an undergraduate student who is comfortable working in WordPress and wants hands on experience building real websites used by the public. The intern will work with leadership and nonprofit stakeholders to understand goals, branding, and content needs, then help turn that direction into finished web pages.

This internship offers hands-on experience working on real websites with real audiences. You will gain practical experience in WordPress development, collaborate directly with leadership, and build portfolio ready work you can showcase after the internship. This role is well suited for a motivated student who wants to grow their technical skills while taking ownership of meaningful projects.

This role will be remote.

The hourly pay for this position is $18.00 an hour. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain the company website using WordPress

Help design and build a new WordPress website for a newly formed 501(c) organization

Meet with leadership and stakeholders to understand website goals, branding, and content direction

Create and update website pages, layouts, and navigation based on provided guidance

Assist with writing, organizing, and formatting website content

Apply basic design, usability, and branding best practices

Make updates based on feedback and support the approval process

Learn to troubleshoot website issues and improve site performance

Required Qualifications:

Experience using WordPress for school projects, personal sites, or internships

Comfort editing pages, using themes and plugins, and managing site content in WordPress

Interest in web design, user experience, and content development

Ability to work independently while asking questions when needed

Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with leadership and team members

Good attention to detail and desire to produce quality work

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building a WordPress site from start to finish

Basic knowledge of HTML or CSS

Interest in nonprofit or mission driven work

Familiarity with accessibility or SEO basics
