SUMMARY: The Senior Superintendent provides overall leadership for on-site field management and administration as it relates to the onsite construction process in planning, coordination and execution of work on time and within budget for larger and more complex projects. Position includes direct supervision of superintendent and assistants, foreman, subcontractors and other construction related personnel in planning, coordination and execution of work on time along with direct coordination with clients, design team members, 3rd party consultants, etc. Position leads in the establishment of the project parameters as it relates to the onsite work while maintaining a safe workplace, enforcing quality control, enhancing client relationships and promoting the company image.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of construction operations experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field and at least seven (7) years of progressing supervisory overall building construction experience Certifications for CPR / First Aid and OSHA 30-hour Proficiency with computer-based scheduling software, spreadsheet applications, project management software, and virtual construction software Knowledge and understanding of sustainable construction (ex. LEED) Ability to manage a team and lead a project to a successful outcome TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE: Leads large projects, manages schedules, coordinates trade partners, and ensures project success Oversees all field operations, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery Leads all aspects of project execution in partnership with project management, from field operations, field engineering, to coordination with trade partners, ensuring that schedules, safety, quality standards, and contractual obligations are met Partners with project management team to lead project teams with strong organizational skills and maintains focus on project goals Applies deep knowledge of construction systems and techniques to ensure that project operations are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality and safety standards Communicates and builds trust effectively with project stakeholders, including owners, designers, and trade partners, facilitating collaboration and aligning goals for successful project delivery; working to ensure there are no major communication breakdowns Leads in resolving issues, managing conflict, and maintaining positive relationships among all project stakeholders, promoting a collaborative and productive project environment Implements, utilizes and enforces DAVIS quality best practices; creates, implements, and enforces quality plans, ensuring high standards across all phases; enforces quality best practices across projects Utilizes knowledge of quality and construction processes to anticipate potential risks to the project, implementing proactive measures to mitigate them Oversees the quality control process, ensuring that all work is done to code and project specifications, utilizing past experiences and technical knowledge to address potential issues Effectively uses project management software, scheduling systems, and other construction-related tools to manage project tasks and communicate with stakeholders Leverages knowledge of safety standards to enforce best practices across projects; implements and enforces safety plans, ensuring high standards across all phases Mentors teams on safety standards, ensuring that all team members are held accountable to ensuring and practicing company protocols and best practices Utilizes knowledge of safety and construction processes to anticipate potential risks to the project, implementing proactive measures to mitigate them Ensures full compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements Proactively identifies potential risks (e.g., safety risks, scheduling delays, quality concerns) and provides feasible solutions, using experience and technical knowledge to ensure minimal disruption to the project Develops contingency plans based on technical insights, ensuring the project remains on track even when unexpected issues arise Proficiently reviews and manages project documentation such as contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure constructability, accuracy, and compliance Ensures compliance with contract requirements and effective project documentation; ensures proper documentation is maintained, including safety reports, quality checklists, and other project-related paperwork; ensures compliance with all industry and corporate standards Creates, manages, and reviews project schedules independently, utilizing software and best practices to ensure the project remains on track and potential delays are avoided Ensures successful and timely project delivery through effective schedule management Directs the development of project schedules, working clo
