Position Summary

Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Supplier Quality Management process to ensure excellent quality at competitive cost of purchased materials, components and/or services.

Essential Responsibilities

Build supplier relationships on-site at suppliers.

Utilize statistical techniques and six sigma tools to analyze processes and drive continuous improvement activities.

Manage supplier non-conformance including root cause and corrective action holding supplier accountable (SCAR).

Manage Quality escapes including root cause investigation, containment and corrective actions, participate in 8D investigations.

Perform supplier audits, analyzes processes and procedures, risk mitigation assessments, provide technical support promoting productivity improvements and or cost reduction opportunities.

Assess non-conformance / audit findings and lead closure of supplier actions as needed.

Lead internal audits to ensure the effective implementation of QMS.

Develop, collect and analyze Supplier Quality metrics quantifying risk and communicating risks to management while identifying solutions to mitigate risk.

Issue Supplier Performance scorecard monthly to all inventory suppliers, implement supplier development plan with select suppliers.

Support NPI (new product introduction) with regard to new product approval qualification testing.

Review Supplier First Articles and communicate disposition to suppliers and organization.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical discipline

5+ years of experience with activity in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Supplier Development or similar

Up to 50% travel

Experience and understanding of AS9100 requirements.

Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

Good documentation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills

Strong problem-solving skills, experience with 8D, root cause analysis techniques, and the ability to train others.

Organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Able to speak and present information in front of groups, both internal and external

Knowledge of and adherence to Quality systems

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to work in a team environment, including the ability to manage suppliers and project stakeholders

Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships

Strict attention to detail including regulatory and policy requirements

Effective interpersonal skills

Verbal/written communication skills

Good computer skills in usage of MS Office Suite

Fluent in English
