We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the next chapter of this resort’s evolution. This role goes beyond day-to-day operations - it requires a strategic operator who can assess the property’s current state, identify its full potential, and execute a clear plan to transform it into a premier destination.
This includes guiding operational improvements, leading cultural change, and playing a key role in upcoming renovations and long-term repositioning. The successful candidate will be energized by both the challenge and opportunity: to build a memorable guest experience today while shaping a stronger, more competitive resort for the future.
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the resort’s operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and the successful execution of capital improvements and strategic initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Property Transformation
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current operations, guest experience, and physical assets to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Develop and execute a clear strategic plan to reposition and elevate the resort within the Prince Edward County market.
- Lead and support renovation initiatives, working closely with ownership, designers, and contractors to enhance facilities while minimizing operational disruption.
- Champion a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement across all departments.
Operations Management
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and recreational offerings.
- Ensure all facilities are maintained to high standards through proactive inspections and maintenance planning.
- Optimize operational systems, workflows, and service delivery to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Manage staffing levels, recruitment, scheduling, and performance to align with business needs.
Guest Experience & Brand Development
- Redefine and elevate the guest experience to create a distinctive, memorable, and repeatable stay.
- Implement service standards and programming that reflect the character and expectations of the Prince Edward County market.
- Address guest feedback and concerns with professionalism and urgency, using insights to drive improvements.
- Introduce unique experiences (e.g., curated events, culinary programming, wellness offerings) that differentiate the property.
Financial & Business Performance
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with ownership goals.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Identify revenue growth opportunities, cost controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Provide regular, transparent reporting to investors and senior leadership.
Marketing & Revenue Growth
- Collaborate on repositioning the resort’s brand and market presence.
- Support and guide marketing strategies to drive occupancy, increase visibility, and strengthen reputation.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and tourism partners.
- Develop compelling packages and promotions aligned with both peak and off-peak seasons.
Leadership, Culture & Team Development
- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team aligned with the resort’s vision and values.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability structures, and performance standards across all departments.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development to elevate team capability and engagement.
- Lead through change with transparency, consistency, and strong communication.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee implementation of safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with local businesses, wineries, tourism partners, and vendors.
- Position the resort as an active and valued part of the Prince Edward County community.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years in a senior leadership role within hospitality (resort, boutique hotel, or lifestyle property preferred).
- Proven track record of improving operations, guest experience, and financial performance.
- Experience leading property repositioning, renovations, or operational turnarounds is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong leadership and change management capabilities

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Experience with hospitality systems (PMS, POS, housekeeping platforms)
