Lead AI Engineer (Cloud, Machine Learning)

The R&D Laboratory of a large multinational company is seeking an experienced engineer to join the AI Platform team, which creates web services, tools and machine learning models for Sony business units.

The ideal candidate will be a very strong software developer, with experience both in designing and developing cloud-based solutions using Big Data tools and technologies, as well as in applying machine learning to build models on various types of data (tabular, time series, images).

They will join a project that focuses on innovative data analytics R&D and builds and deploys solutions for various parts of the business.

Profile

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field, be fluent in English, and have the following skills and experience.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

5+ years of back-end cloud design, development and deployment experience:

• Design and development of RESTful web services: Python, Flask, Java

3+ years of experience in DevOps

• CI/CD
• Docker
• Experience with data analytics, machine learning
• Excellent coding, reviewing and testing skills
• Good communication and presentation skills

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

Data tools and technologies such as:

• Hadoop, Spark, Apache Beam
• TensorFlow, PyTorch
• Knowledge of Haskell, Rust, Golang

Job Start and Duration

Job start is ASAP. We are interested in both permanent and temporary contracts. In the latter case we offer a contract for 12 months. However, also for the temporary type of contract, the client is interested to keep the hired engineer longer than one year.

The client is an AI and software research & development group. They are wholly owned by a multinational corporation, and exclusively research and develop AI and software for the organisation’s products and services. Their offices are located in Zaventem, near Brussels, Belgium. The group is international and the working language is English.
