Job Description
Research Assistant affiliated at the Integrative Lab at Integrative Psych & Sultan Lab for Mental Health Informatics, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC).
Location: CUIMC, and Integrative Psych (in Chelsea, NYC)
Employment Type: Full Time, with 2-year required commitment
Position Summary:
The Integrative Psych Clinic through the Sultan Lab for Mental Health Informatics in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to support ongoing research in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Focusing on the development of a modern EHR/EMR systems that is clinically focused with staff as end users, yet that organizes and catalogues all non-structured and structured data in a manner that can be easily and systemically analyzed by analytic research staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-designing of EHR/EMR for clinicians
- Technical Development of EHR/EMR systems
- Assistant in technical roles in the Integrative Psych clinic
- Contribute to the authorship of manuscripts for publication in major research journals.
- Perform statistical data analysis on large public health datasets.
- Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and amendments.
- Prepare presentations for conferences throughout the year.
- Schedule and manage weekly lab meetings.
- Mentor undergraduate students in the lab.
Candidate Qualities:
- Proficiency in programing and web application development
- Some experience in Python, Javascript, CSS
- Experience with APIs
- Proficiency in scientific writing (ideally, provide a scientific writing sample)
- A proficiency in statistics and using statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, or SAS).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for mental health/medical research.
- Ability to both work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary, collaborative research team.
Nice to Have
- Experience with grant writing
- Advanced statistics
