Forensic Auditor

Preventive Forensics is an emerging and critical discipline that shifts the focus from post-crash investigation to pre-emptive identification of risks on the road. At IRTE, this approach integrates forensic science with traffic engineering, enforcement practices, and human behaviour analysis to reduce violations and prevent crashes before they occur.

Selected candidates engaged with IRTE Forensic Auditors will work together with Departments of Forensic Science, Traffic Engineering, Legal, Public Health for Road Safety for understanding and creating Countermeasures of road traffic violations and crashes.

Experience: Minimum 3 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead analysis of road traffic violations and crash causation using preventive forensic methodologies
• Supervise and validate field observations, photographic and video-based evidence
• Study interactions between human behaviour, road design, vehicle condition, and enforcement gaps
• Identify high-risk patterns such as unsafe manoeuvres, right-of-way violations, and infrastructure deficiencies
• Guide junior team members (Assistant Forensic Auditors) and oversee field documentation quality
• Develop evidence-based reports and actionable recommendations for prevention
• Liaison with enforcement agencies and stakeholders for implementation support

Eligibility :

Forensic Auditor

• M.Sc in Forensic Science (mandatory)
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in forensic analysis / field investigation
• Strong analytical, interpretation, and reporting skills
• Keen interest in forensic photography and videography, with willingness to develop skills for scientific crash documentation
• Ability to handle field-based assignments and lead teams
• Interest in road safety, behavioural analysis, and public systems

Desirable Qualification:

• Specialization in Crime Scene Investigation
