Construction Surveyor (RMWB local)

Overview

Insite Surveys Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor to support ongoing O&G projects in the Fort McMurray, Alberta area. This role is ideal for a local professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and has a strong background in field surveying and construction operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction layout, staking, and as-built surveys
• Operate survey equipment including GNSS & Total Station
• Interpret engineering drawings and site plans
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site crews
• Ensure accuracy and quality of survey data and deliverables
• Maintain field notes, reports, and documentation
• Adhere to safety standards and site procedures at all times

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5+ years of construction surveying experience
• Strong experience in O&G, heavy civil, or industrial projects
• Proficient with survey equipment (primarily Trimble)
• Experience with field software and data workflows
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to site daily (local to Fort McMurray)
• Must be willing to work a rotation schedule (10/4 or similar)

Nice to Have

• Underground locate experience
• UAV pilot license or willing to pursue
• 3D Scanning experience
