Job Description
Role Overview:
As a SOC Analyst at Insight, you will be responsible for detecting and reporting cybersecurity incidents to clients. Your main tasks will involve day-to-day cybersecurity monitoring using Insight's security tools to protect our clients' businesses. You will play a crucial role in detecting threats, creating incident tickets, assisting with response processes, helping develop threat detection and prevention capabilities, and supporting clients in optimizing their cybersecurity incident response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the daily cybersecurity threat monitoring of Insight Managed Security Services (MSS) clients
- Monitor SIEM incident queue, perform incident triage & ticketing, and provide support until resolution
- Conduct threat analysis on events reported by security technologies supported by MSS
- Identify indicators of compromise within threat events
- Recognize potential false positives, policy violations, intrusion attempts, and compromises
- Enhance security events with intelligence from various technologies, open-source intelligence sources, and understanding of the client environment
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience within a Security Operations Center
- Proficiency in scripting and query languages, preferably KQL
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, M365 Defender, Secureworks Taegis, Service Now
- Familiarity with Cloud-based services, particularly Azure
- Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities
