Job Description

Inserso Corporation is seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. The Junior Accountant will support day‑to‑day accounting operations, help maintain accurate financial records, assist with financial reporting, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare journal entries and support general ledger maintenance.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable activities.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Support external audits by gathering documentation and responding to requests.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and core accounting principles.
  • At least 2 years of hands‑on accounting experience.
  • Experience with project accounting and billing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and develop professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government contracting.
  • Experience with JAMIS Prime ERP or Deltek accounting systems.

Physical and/or Mental Qualifications

  • Effectively communicate with employees, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Continuous sitting or standing at a workstation while operating a computer.
  • May move computer equipment or other office items weighing up to 10 pounds.
