Software Engineer – Java (AI Platform)

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 (DOE)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer (Java) to support the development of a next-generation AI-driven platform. This role focuses primarily on backend development, with some frontend exposure, contributing to innovative products used across QA and Operations.

You’ll work alongside engineering, product, and data teams to build scalable, high-performance systems that power AI-enabled decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using modern Java and Spring Boot
• Build and optimize APIs and microservices supporting AI systems.
• Collaborate with data and AI teams to integrate machine learning capabilities
• Support limited frontend development using JavaScript when needed
• Develop and maintain database solutions using PostgreSQL and SQL Server
• Deploy and manage applications in AWS cloud environments
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to system performance, security, and scalability

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
• Solid understanding of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
• Working knowledge of JavaScript for basic frontend support

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
• Experience with Python
• Exposure to AI / Machine Learning systems
• Experience supporting data-driven or analytics platforms
• Background in fintech, or regulated industries (plus)
