UX/UI Designer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to support the design, usability, and user experience of web and client-based applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong design sensibilities with technical knowledge to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging user interfaces. This role requires close collaboration with designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of websites and applications
• Collaborate with Graphic Designers, Product Managers, Engineering Staff, and other designers
• Conduct usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and human factors analysis
• Define and monitor usability metrics to assess application performance
• Gather and articulate user interface requirements, including developing page and site prototypes
• Create design artifacts such as wireframes, storyboards, paper prototypes, and interactive prototypes
• Perform ad hoc user interface consulting and provide design recommendations
• Integrate design solutions into system architecture and program rules
• Ensure platform and browser compatibility and address basic usability issues
• Develop front-end solutions using HTML, web production tools, and applicable scripting languages

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 3 years of combined IT and graphic design experience
• Strong understanding of HTML and working knowledge of web generators and photographic libraries
• Demonstrated experience with:
• Human factors engineering and usability testing
• User-centered design methodologies and user scenarios
• Heuristic evaluations and usability metrics
• Graphic applications, HTML development tools, and web authoring tools
• Front-end development using programming and scripting languages
• Ability to produce and present a portfolio of websites or design solutions
• High proficiency in both spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work onsite in Tallahassee, Florida
• 5+ years of professional experience as a UX/UI Designer
