Private Equity Business Development Associate - (Commission)

We’re Hiring: Business Development Associate (Commission-Based) | Inflection Point Partners

Inflection Point Partners is looking for a highly motivated Business Development Associate to join our team. This is commission based role.

About IPP

Inflection Point Partners is an intermediary and investment firm focused on the lower middle market. We work closely with private equity firms, founders, and operators to source proprietary investment opportunities, support retained buy-side searches, and help connect the right businesses with the right capital partners. Our approach is relationship-driven, founder-friendly, and built around deep sector focus within business and field services.

What the role will involve

• Building and maintaining coverage on private equity sponsors, including tracking which firms are actively investing, in which sectors, and under what criteria
• Supporting retained search engagements by helping rematch opportunities across our buyer network when needed
• Conference planning and execution, including events such as ACG, with responsibility for attendee targeting, meeting coordination, and follow-up
• Setting appointments and helping manage outbound business development activity
• Maintaining CRM and pipeline data so our outreach and sponsor coverage remain current and actionable
• Assisting with research, market mapping, and live deal tracking across our target sectors
• Helping prepare internal summaries, buyer lists, and outreach materials for active opportunities

Who we are looking for

• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced deal environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in private equity, M&A, business development, and lower middle market investing
• Able to synthesize information quickly and communicate clearly
• Detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of projects
• Prior exposure to finance, investing, sales, or business development is helpful, but hustle, judgment, and attitude matter most
