About the Role

As a Senior Cloud Data Platform (GCP) Engineer at Incedo, you will be at the forefront of managing, building, and optimizing our Google Cloud Platform environment. You will ensure scalability, performance, and enterprise-grade security while partnering closely with data analysts and data scientists to develop robust data pipelines and accelerate data science experiments.

You will leverage your expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) to configure and optimize the GCP environment, drive efficient and accurate data pipelines, and work hand-in-hand with the security team to maintain compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

Cloud Data Platform Development

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based data platforms using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Integrate and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
• Implement, maintain, and continuously optimize ETL processes and end-to-end data pipelines.

Infrastructure & Security

• Configure, manage, and fine-tune GCP environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and enforce security policies, access controls, and governance standards across the platform.
• Collaborate with the security team to ensure full compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work cross-functionally with data analysts, data scientists, and product teams to maintain data integrity and consistency.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members to ensure successful delivery.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
• Align technology decisions with the company's long-term strategic vision.

Operations & Troubleshooting

• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data platform issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor pipeline health and platform performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Requirements

Mandatory / Must-Have

• GCP Core Services:
• Google BigQuery – advanced querying, optimization & governance
• Google Cloud Dataflow – stream and batch data processing
• Google Cloud Composer (Airflow) – pipeline orchestration
• Google Cloud Storage – scalable object storage and data lake management
• Strong Python programming skills for data engineering and pipeline automation.
• Proficiency in SQL for complex queries, transformations, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with ETL migration — designing, executing, and validating large-scale data migrations.
• Familiarity with AI-native engineering tools to enhance developer productivity and pipeline intelligence.

Good to Have

• Experience with big data technologies: Apache Spark, Apache Beam, or Hadoop.
• Cloud cross-platform knowledge: AWS (Redshift, Glue, Lambda) or Azure Data Services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).
• Knowledge of Java for data pipeline development.
• Exposure to data quality frameworks, data lineage, and governance tooling.

Soft Skills

Education

B.Tech / B.E / M.Tech or MCA from a reputed institution. A background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
