Senior Backend Engineer

Impala Search is working with a high growth, profitable Series A company building the infrastructure layer that powers data collection for leading AI labs. Their platform operates a large scale distributed network, processing around 5 petabytes of public web data daily, creating complex challenges across performance, reliability, and distributed systems.

This is not typical backend work. You’ll be operating close to the infrastructure layer, solving real problems around how data is collected, moved, and processed at scale.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building high performance backend systems and APIs
• Developing and optimising large scale data pipelines across web, video, and audio
• Writing and improving performance critical components in C++
• Debugging and resolving complex issues in live, high throughput systems
• Contributing to infrastructure across server side, and parts of mobile and desktop systems
• Working on systems related to proxy networks and browser level data collection

What they’re looking for

• Strong C++ experience
• Background in scalable or distributed systems
• Comfortable working on performance sensitive, systems level problems
