Programmer/Analyst (SAP BO & Power BI)

Duration: Two years contract

Reports to: Technical Lead / Project Manager

Role Summary

This role provides senior‑level Business Intelligence development expertise across both SAP BusinessObjects and Microsoft Power BI. The resource will support Reporting and Analytics team on data‑driven initiatives, dashboard development, semantic modeling, and migration from SAP BO to Power BI within a multi‑year modernization program.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Federal Government Reliability Status
• 7+ years designing, developing, and governing BI solutions with Power BI
• 5+ years developing advanced Power BI architecture (Dataflows, Power Query, Semantic Models, pipelines)
• 3+ years implementing security models (RLS/OLS), managing workspace/dataset permissions
• 1+ year Git version control experience
• 3+ years (within last 5) migrating SAP BO → Power BI

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and gather reporting requirements
• Develop advanced BI solutions using: Power BI Desktop, Dataflows, Power Query, DAX, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, Git
• Develop & maintain SAP BO WebI reports and Universes
• Migrate dashboards from SAP BO to Power BI
• Design Power BI semantic models and data models
• Build visual dashboards and optimize performance
• Perform unit testing, performance testing, and participate in UAT
• Support production troubleshooting and enhancements
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and use Azure DevOps for work management
• Contribute to cloud migration activities (Azure, Microsoft Fabric)

Required Skills

• Strong Power BI development with DAX, semantic modeling, performance tuning
• SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence + Universe design
• Advanced SQL for data extraction and transformation
• BI architecture understanding and data modeling best practices
• Experience with Agile, Azure DevOps, Git
• Ability to support cloud modernization initiatives

• PL‑300 / DA‑100 (Power BI Data Analyst)
• DP‑500 (Enterprise‑Scale Analytics)
• DP‑900 (Azure Fundamentals)
• DP‑203 (Data Engineering on Azure)
