Ibrahim Energy Partners is a North-Africa-focused upstream advisory firm. We connect qualified Western exploration and production companies with verified upstream opportunities in Libya, with secondary reach into Tunisia and Algeria. Our Managing Director, Dr. Fateh Belhaj, spent thirty years advising the Libyan Ministry of Petroleum and led eleven exploration discoveries.

We are not brokers. We do not take principal positions. We facilitate verified introductions under non-disclosure between counterparties our partners on the ground have worked with for three decades, and Western operators we have screened. The product is credibility — and that is the only thing we sell.

We are headquartered in Victoria, British Columbia. Libya's first licensing round in seventeen years has just closed. TotalEnergies, ConocoPhillips, ENI, Chevron, and Repsol have secured blocks. A second round is being prepared. The pipeline is real. We are building the team to work it.

THE ROLE

Director, Business Development — North Africa Upstream. Contract, remote, US-based preferred (Houston or Calgary ideal). Reporting directly to the CEO.

You will run our daily Western-facing pipeline: qualifying targets among E&P operators and EPC contractors, opening doors at the business-development and corporate-development level, shaping deal narratives for Western boards, supporting the introductory call cadence with Dr. Belhaj, and structuring inbound interest into the NCNDA-to-MOU-to-binding flow our partners expect. You will own the Western relationship layer end-to-end while the CEO and Managing Director hold the principal seats on each deal.

WHO SUCCEEDS IN THIS ROLE

Fifteen-plus years in upstream E&P with direct business-development, corporate-development, or M&A advisory experience.

A rolodex you can actually use. We can train geology. We cannot manufacture twenty years of relationships.

Frontier-market deal history preferred — MENA, West Africa, FSU, Latin America. Comfortable with political-risk pricing and EPSA-style fiscal terms.

Fluent in the language of Calgary, Houston, and London boardrooms. Reads a reserves report. Knows what a development plan should and should not contain.

Comfortable in a small, founder-led firm where you write the deck, take the call, and brief the principal — without a layer of analysts between you and the work.

Personal credibility that survives a Google search. Discretion that survives a deal.

STRUCTURE AND COMPENSATION

Contract engagement (1099). Modest monthly retainer plus a meaningful success fee on facilitated deals. Equity participation available for the right candidate. We are deal-driven, not headcount-driven — the right person will earn far more on success fees than on retainer.
