Control Systems Engineer, Intermediate

We are seeking an Intermediate Control Systems Engineer to work alongside our multi-disciplinary team to design, implement and test advanced hydrogen refueling systems. In this role you may occasionally have the opportunity to travel within North America to commission or troubleshoot equipment in the field.

Responsibilities:Your responsibilities will include:

• Participating in control systems design, including:

• Involvement in the systems design process
• Selecting instrumentation and controls
• Writing and reviewing design documentation
• Programming control systems
• Developing HMIs
• Developing test plans and test jigs
• Testing of control systems, using automated and manual methods, to support the manufacturing process
• Providing technical guidance and support to technicians and electricians involved in the construction and testing of equipment
• Developing improvements in the control system development and testing methods, including automated tools, test jigs and techniques

Qualifications and Experience - Required:

• Electrical or systems engineering or degree, or equivalent
• 4 to 6 years of experience in industrial control systems
• Python (or similar) programming
• HMI or similar user interface development
• Testing and troubleshooting of instrumentation and controls
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Qualifications and Experience - Preferred:

• PLC programming, using ladder logic or structured text
• Database design and implementation experience (e.g. SQL)
• Technical writing (e.g. manuals, user guides, installation instructions)
• Operational Technology (OT) network configuration (e.g. VPN routers, switches)
• Experience with hazard analysis and risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP, FMEA, DSR
• Experience with industrial standards CSA 22.1, NFPA 70
