Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter

Job Overview:

Division 26 Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber/Gasfitter to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting of plumbing and gas systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

This position will also require the successful candidate to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install plumbing systems for new construction projects and renovations
• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing and gas systems to ensure proper functionality and code compliance
• Install and commission gas systems and gas-fired appliances
• Troubleshoot and repair DWV (Drain, Waste, and Vent) systems
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and building specifications to determine layouts for piping, drainage, and gas systems
• Cut, assemble, and install pipes, tubing, valves, and fixtures while working around existing infrastructure
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, electricians, pipefitters, steamfitters, and other trades on various projects
• Respond promptly to plumbing and gas emergencies, including leaks, system failures, and service calls
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and after-hours emergency response when required
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and company safety standards

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Plumber/Gasfitter
• Valid Journeyperson certification considered an asset
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Solid understanding of plumbing, gas, and building codes and regulations
• Experience commissioning and troubleshooting plumbing and gas systems
• Basic mathematical skills for measurements, layouts, and calculations
• HVAC experience considered an asset
• Carpentry knowledge considered beneficial
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and working in various field conditions
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract preferred
