As a Software Tester, you will test the applications that we build for our customers as well as our own internal tools. You will collaborate closely with other members of the engineering and product teams to ensure that our products are free of defects.

No previous experience is required. In fact, we prefer a candidate with no previous experience in software quality assurance. This position can be an entry point to other roles in technology or product development.

This role is focused on manual testing rather than automated testing.

Salary

Starting salary: CAD$67,000.

Hours

40 hours per week. Working hours are flexible but need to roughly align with business hours in Pacific Time.

You might not have any formal experience in software testing or the tech industry, but you can pick up a new mobile or web application and figure out how to use it faster than most people you know. This job can be a great way to enter the tech industry without previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with the product team to create and execute test plans for product features.
• Perform on-demand testing as the engineering team deploys changes.
• Create and maintain detailed bug reports.
• Be responsible for the backlog of bugs.
• Ensure that metrics are correct.
• Other work to facilitate the progress of the software development team.

Requirements

• Logical and detail oriented.
• Proficient in writing clear, concise, and accurate English.
• Good understanding of the fundamentals of the Internet, browsers, email, and common operating systems. Familiar with terms like: URL, HTTPS, Safari, Chrome, attachment, Android, server, virtual machine.
