Job Description: Head of Logistics, Warehousing & Supply Chain

Position Overview:
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Head of Logistics to provide strategic leadership for our pan-India logistics, warehousing, fleet, and end-to-end supply chain operations. This executive role is responsible for transforming our logistics function into a competitive advantage, driving integration across diverse business verticals (Food, Biofuels, Construction, Bitumen), and ensuring seamless, scalable, and cost-optimized operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record of designing and executing large-scale supply chain strategies, leading large teams, and leveraging technology for enterprise-wide excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & P&L Ownership:
- Develop and execute the long-term logistics and supply chain strategy aligned with the group's overall business objectives.
- Own the P&L for the entire logistics vertical, including the owned fleet, with a focus on profitability, cost leadership, and value creation.
- Drive the integration of logistics strategy across all business units, ensuring synergies and standardized best practices where applicable.
2. Network Design & Optimization:
- Architect and continuously optimize the pan-India logistics network, including warehouse locations, hub-and-spoke models, and transportation strategies.
- Lead initiatives for strategic insourcing/outsourcing decisions for fleet, warehousing, and logistics services.
- Evaluate and implement advanced logistics models (e.g., cross-docking, milk runs, dedicated lanes) to enhance efficiency.
3. Technology & Digital Transformation:
- Spearhead the digital transformation roadmap for the supply chain. Champion the selection, implementation, and integration of advanced technologies (ERP, TMS, WMS, IoT, Advanced Analytics).
- Establish a central Control Tower for end-to-end supply chain visibility, predictive analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Leverage data analytics to forecast trends, model scenarios, and optimize costs and service levels.
4. Performance, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Define and monitor enterprise-level KPIs and SLAs for the entire logistics ecosystem.
- Ensure group-wide compliance with all statutory, safety, and quality regulations (FSSAI, PESO, MOEFCC, Transportation Laws) across all states of operation.
- Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks for supply chain disruptions, safety incidents, and price volatility (fuel, etc.).
5. Leadership, Culture & Vendor Strategy:
- Provide inspirational leadership to a large, pan-India team, fostering a culture of innovation, safety, accountability, and high performance.
- Build and develop a strong leadership pipeline, including mentoring the Senior Manager - Operations.
- Formulate and manage strategic partnerships and alliances with key vendors, technology providers, and logistics partners.
6. Sustainability & Innovation:
- Develop and lead the group's sustainable logistics strategy, focusing on carbon footprint reduction, reverse logistics, circular economy principles, and green fleet initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends (automation, electrification, alternative fuels) and pilot innovative solutions for competitive advantage.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, and distribution management, with at least 8-10 years in a senior leadership role overseeing pan-India or multi-regional operations.
Industry Background: Experience in managing logistics for diverse product portfolios is critical, especially with exposure to FMCG/Food, Industrial Products (Chemicals/Bitumen), or similar sectors with varied compliance needs.
