Senior IT Operations Engineer demonstrates superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. They oversee the technology used to support all aspects of the Company including our laboratory, e-commerce operations, and corporate offices. This role collaborates with business leadership teams as a strategic partner to provide in-depth technical expertise in support of business decisions. This position is responsible for driving implementation of best practices for optimizing infrastructure and operation costs and improving system performance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop, and operationalize the Company’s enterprise IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Ensure IT operations meet regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to executive leadership on all technology, infrastructure, and cybersecurity matters.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing IT operations team, fostering accountability, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of enterprise infrastructure, including operating systems, applications, virtualization, and system management platforms.
  • Drive application and infrastructure performance by proactively monitoring, identifying, and resolving potential bottlenecks.
  • Ensure maximum availability, reliability, and scalability of systems and infrastructure through proactive planning and execution.
  • Provide leadership in delivering secure, resilient, and cost-effective IT operations across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Establish and maintain robust security, backup, disaster recovery, and redundancy strategies.
  • Provide senior-level escalation support and technical leadership for complex or mission-critical issues.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service delivery, ensuring timely resolution of issues and alignment with business needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, including senior-level leadership overseeing multiple technology domains.
  • Proven experience leading and scaling IT operations teams in complex, mission-critical environments.
  • Deep hands-on experience with enterprise technologies, including:
  • Dell 10G switching and EMC SAN storage
  • Hyper-V virtualization platforms
  • Fortinet (FortiGate) firewalls
  • Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • Ubiquiti networking solutions
  • Veeam Advanced Data Platform
  • SentinelOne Enterprise Cybersecurity Platform
  • NinjaOne Endpoint Management
  • Atlassian Jira
  • Google Workspace
  • Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Experience implementing IT governance, security, and compliance in ISO/GMP-regulated environments.
  • Strong background in application stack administration, performance tuning, and availability optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Extensive experience implementing organization-wide cybersecurity best practices to protect infrastructure, data, and business operations.
  • Advanced networking expertise, including routing, subnetting, firewall configuration, and traffic management.
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
