At Heven, your voice matters, your ideas are heard, and your contributions make a tangible impact as you grow through hands-on experience and collaboration across the team.</p> <p><strong>Role Summary:</strong><br>The Composite Technician performs complex fabrication and assembly of detailed parts, subassemblies, and final airframe assemblies in both manufacturing and production aircraft environments, including adhesive bonded assemblies of metallic and nonmetallic composite materials.</p> <p>This role is flexible and may support additional aircraft manufacturing activities as needed, including composite layup, painting, trim and drill, tooling movement, and cross-functional production support to ensure timely delivery. The work is moderately advanced to complex and requires strong craft-level skill and an understanding of aerospace manufacturing principles.&nbsp;The successful candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across teams—someone who is <strong>hungry to learn and improve, humble in approach, and smart in how they collaborate and execute</strong>. This role requires the ability to interpret production documentation, support scheduling and workflow, and help drive material and assembly flow.</p> <p><strong>Essential Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform advanced fabrication and assembly of composite parts, subassemblies, and airframe structures</li> <li>Execute composite layup using wet layup, prepreg, and vacuum bagging techniques (carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar)</li> <li>Perform resin infusion processes (VARTM, RTM) per engineering specifications</li> <li>Produce adhesive bonded assemblies of metallic and nonmetallic materials</li> <li>Handle, mix, and apply epoxy resin systems in compliance with MSDS requirements</li> <li>Operate and monitor autoclave and oven cure cycles; manage prepreg material storage and handling</li> <li>Demold, trim, sand, drill, and finish composite parts to tight engineering tolerances</li> <li>Use hand and power tools safely and effectively per work instructions</li> <li>Utilize precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)</li> <li>Maintain tooling and ensure proper condition of equipment</li> <li>Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and process specifications</li> <li>Complete accurate documentation of work orders and inspection results</li> <li>Maintain compliance with PPE, 5S, and FOD prevention standards</li> <li>Support process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost, and delivery</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and production planning teams</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p> <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree or two-year college certificate in any technical, industrial, or applied science discipline also accepted</li> <li>General knowledge of hand tools and basic mechanical aptitude</li> <li>Ability to use precision measurement devices</li> <li>Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings</li> <li>Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions</li> <li>Familiarity with blueprint reading and basic GD&amp;T (Geometric Dimensioning &amp; Tolerancing) concepts</li> <li>Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) per ITAR/EAR export control regulations</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced vocational and/or military technical schooling related to aircraft manufacturing or maintenance, or FAA-licensed Airframe &amp; Powerplant (A&amp;P)</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred for candidates seeking accelerated advancement into engineering support roles)</li> <li>Associate's degree or two-year technical college certificate in Aviation Maintenance Technology, Composites Manufacturing, or a related discipline also strongly considered</li> <li>Experience in FAA-regulated manufacturing and associated paperwork and documentation</li> <li>Hands-on experience with composite layup, fiberglass, or aerospace, UAS, marine, or motorsport fabrication</li> <li>Exposure to non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic inspection or tap testing</li> <li>Familiarity with resin infusion techniques including VARTM or RTM</li> <li>Experience in an AS9100 or ISO-certified quality management environment</li> <li>Experience using digital calipers, micrometers, or other precision measurement tools</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE throughout the shift</li> <li>Consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel during production activities</li> <li>Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; comfortable handling composite materials, tooling, and assemblies</li> <li>Comfortable working with resins, solvents, and other chemical compounds with appropriate PPE</li> <li>May be required to support extended hours based on program schedule demands</li> <li>Work onsite full-time; this role is not eligible for remote or hybrid arrangements</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits Overview:</strong>&nbsp;<br>Heven AeroTech offers a competitive benefits package designed to support the health, financial security, and overall well-being of our employees and their families.
