Job Description

**The Position**:
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Operations, the Database Administrator Analyst maintains the overall data design and integrity of Havergal’s mission critical systems, ensuring that data is available in easily accessible and usable formats for employees to use in their day to day duties and responsibilities.
**Specific Accountabilities**:
- Act as system administrator for the Havergal College’s school information management system, configuring relevant system components based on client requirements and operational processes
- Act as Level 2 support for the College’s Student Information System and for database related issues
- Manage the day to day activities of the Database Associate, providing direction and guidance to resolve operational issues and support project related initiatives
- Manage and liaise with 3rd party vendor support as required
- Develop and maintain Havergal College’s Master Data Model
- Manage technical data integrity processes and procedures, including any necessary data migrations
- Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards as directed by the Chief Informatoin Officer
- Manage a group of clients as a Digital Services Advisor, working closely with them develop and oversee plans to support the growth of digital skills for employees
**Special Projects, Professional Development, and Other Duties**
- Take independent initiative to evaluate new technologies
- Through training sessions, online or printed materials, or hands-on experimentation keeps well informed and current on current technologies and practices.
- Other related duties as required
**Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience**
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience
- Excellent knowledge of data modeling and business process modeling
- Experience conducting data analysis and probing for information to extrapolate requirements
- Experience with following would be assets:
- Veracross school information management system
- software development tools such as PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, SQL, mySQL, Google Apps Script, Filemaker
- Data visualization tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills; excellent analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills; the ability to work well as a team member in a multi-professional environment; attention to detail; and the ability to work with mínimal supervision and to act on one’s own initiative.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet strict deadlines; the ability to work effectively with a wide range of faculty, staff, and students; the ability to deal with a high volume of client and vendor demands
